Walking Lady Star Bolo with Rope
The star-in-a-circle has been a symbol of the American West for well over a century. Texas lawmen once had their badges cut by hand from silver coins, and the Lone Star itself has stood for Texas since the days of the Republic. Today, the star is still a mark of grit, honor, and Texas pride.
This bolo is made the same way we make our badges, just on a smaller scale. We select a Walking Liberty silver half dollar, smooth the front, and leave the coin's date showing on the back. Master craftsman Adolfo Ambriz then cuts the star by hand. After cutting the star, he twists sterling silver wire and solders it around the coin to give it that classic Western rope trim.
The star is set on your choice of black or dark brown braided leather, or black and white, black, or brown horsehair, finished with silver tips. Choose Regular 38" (up to 6 feet tall) or Tall 42" (over 6 feet).
Handmade in Texas by Ambriz Jewelry.
Caring for your sterling silver
When you're not wearing it, keep it in a small plastic bag so it doesn't get scratched or tarnish. To bring back the shine, polish it with a sterling silver polishing cloth.
