Cinco Peso Star Bolo
The star-in-a-circle has been a symbol of the American West for well over a century. Texas lawmen once had their badges cut by hand from silver coins, and the Mexican cinco peso became the coin of choice for authentic Texas Ranger badges. Today, the star is still a mark of grit, honor, and Texas pride.
This is our largest and most authentic star, made the same way we make our badges. We select a Mexican cinco peso coin made of 90% silver, smooth the front, and leave the coin's date showing on the back. Master craftsman Adolfo Ambriz then cuts the star by hand. We can personalize the ring around the star with a name, ranch, or brand for $10 per letter.
The star is set on your choice of black or dark brown braided leather, or black and white, black, or brown horsehair, finished with silver tips. Choose Regular 38" (up to 6 feet tall), Tall 42" (over 6 feet), or a custom length.
Eagle or Chief: Every cinco peso has two sides. The front shows Mexico's eagle with "Estados Unidos Mexicanos," and the back shows the Aztec chief Cuauhtémoc with "Cinco Pesos" and the date. Many people love the look of the original coin, so we can leave its design showing instead of polishing it smooth. Just choose which side you'd like facing out. We can still add rope trim, but original coin pieces can't be stamped with letters.
