The Republic of Texas Cinco Peso Pendant with Rope Trim

Before Texas was a state, it was a nation. From 1836 to 1845, the Republic of Texas stood on its own, and this piece honors that history.

Hand-cut by master craftsman Adolfo Ambriz, the star is cut from a genuine Mexican cinco peso coin, the same coin used to make authentic Texas Ranger badges. "THE REPUBLIC OF TEXAS" and "1836" are hand stamped around the star, one letter at a time, in the old-world style. A rope trim frames the edge.

The history behind the coin: Early Texas Rangers made their own badges by cutting a star into a Mexican silver coin. In 1962, the cinco peso became the official Texas Ranger badge, a tradition that continues today.

Made entirely by hand: The star is hand cut, and every letter is hand stamped. No machines are involved in making this piece.

Pendant only. The turquoise necklace shown is sold separately.
